Can't We Just Get to the Ashes Already?

by ben 19. October 2010 21:25

Apparently we might get a cricket match tomorrow. Or it might rain. Either way at least I'm not required to wake up at 3.45am to find out. Whilst I'm not on tomorrow those who are only have to cope with the relatively civilized start time of 9am BST.

I like India to continue their momentum from the test series, despite the wholesale change in the lineup for this ODI series. The kids have something to prove on both sides but coming into a winning side always makes things easier as opposed to trying to prove yourself amidst a bunch of losers.  CricketBetLive are giving you better odds on India than you can find in most other places and you can back them at 2.06.

For the player bets I like Bollinger, who may not play, to take more wickets than Asish Nehra who has traditionally really struggled against the Aussies.  I've also backed James Hopes to get over 30.5 points with CBL. A slow pitch should help his medium pace and he can bat a bit from 8 if he gets the chance.

Good luck.

I like the over on both teams for total runs, this ground has never yet seen a side bowled out cheaply and neither side has bowling to match the batting. In particular I like Dhoni's line of 42.5, he's due some runs.

Then there's betting on the 60-run middle, which can give you a major expansion downwards for the overs as a fail-safe, in this case say 255-315.

This means I won't go with you on Hopes, I doubt he'll get a huge look-in at 8 and the bowling could suffer.
